Not Me! Monday - It's back!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to My Charming Kids to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

We had a frog in our house over the weekend. There is a family living by our front door and sometimes I think their little froggy buddies double dog dare each other. Mimi and I did NOT screamed like little girls (Mimi actually is, but I have no excuse) when he jumped on my foot. We did try to scare him back out the door with no luck. We let him hop away in hopes that daddy could find him later (he could not). The butter (which was uncovered because the dish was in the dishwasher) was a mess the next morning and was a mystery until I saw buttery frog prints all up the side of the refrigerator. Nice. Ever want to bleach everything in sight? By mid-morning froggy had shown himself again. I was not going to miss this opportunity so I covered him with an ice cream bucket and got my husband to excavate him. I am NOT that scared to touch a frog.

Last time a frog got in (they always come in when my husband is not home) I did NOT suit up in a winter coat and mittens and try to catch it. When I was unsuccessful, Mimi did NOT find said frog a few weeks later and bring us his dried up carcass.

Yesterday Mimi wanted to have a tea party with Bigs, which I just couldn't bring myself to make fancy little tea food. I did NOT let them consume an entire bag of sour cherry balls and water....with their tea set. Seriously, they couldn't care less what they have for their tea party if it's loads and loads of sugar.

Not Me! Monday

It is NOT Monday again, is it??

I am NOT annoyed every morning by the crossing guard (she is new, we loved the previous one). She must have missed the part of her training that detailed how to stop traffic (hence the flashing lights, cross walk, bright orange clothing, etc.). She waits until there are no cars in sight...please remember this is right before school starts - RIGHT in front of the school. So we wait. And wait. And then, by the grace of God, when there are no cars in site she runs out with her stop sign and tells the kids to hurry across. This morning she commented on how busy it was (oh, really? That is so odd!) and I did NOT reply "It's a good thing you have a stop sign." To which she laughed. And we waited.........

Bigs did NOT lie about her and her friends picking all of the VERY hot habenero peppers off my plant and daring each other to try them. If she had lied about it, it would have been a great teachable moment about lies and their consequences (as she is screaming that it's BURNING). Poor dear. What a hard (but perfect) lesson to learn.
My Little Bit did NOT turn 8 months old yesterday. She did NOT learn to pull herself up to a seated position and crawl in the last 3 days. She just can't be that big already. Every time I write something about her I do NOT mention that time passed too quickly and she is getting big too fast.
I did NOT feed my friends a completely guinea pig meal last night...everything untested. The main dish took about an hour longer that I thought (cook COVERED, not uncovered, duh) and the cupcakes were my workings of the Pillsbury Bake-Off contest. They are NOT just the best friends ever and were completely OK with it :)
This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog and read about the fight they are having with baby Stellan's health. I don't think there will be a Not Me Monday post, just health updates on the little one. If you are inclined to pray, please do so!
Prayers for Stellan

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I ran my first post pregnancy race on Saturday (the last one being one month pregnant with Little Bit in Dec 2007 - yippee). I did NOT start feeling a trickle around mile 4.....because, of course, I have faithfully done all of my Kegal exercises. Really, not only do I get to go through childbirth but now have the bonus of not being able to sneeze, jump on the trampoline, do excessive jumping jacks, or run races without the possibility of leakage. The fun never ends folks!

I did NOT win 2 swagbucks while searching how to spell Kegal....simple word, I didn't need to look that one up. Sometimes it's worth not being a good speller. I always think the easy ones have some sort of trick!

Can someone remind me to write my Not Me! moments down? :) I KNOW I have more but just cannot remember much any more. I do NOT have to call and leave a phone message to myself any time I remember something in the car. Otherwise I would not remember.

Happy Monday!

Not Me! Monday

I did NOT spend over an hour searching for the missing new shoes on Friday. I did NOT think I was losing it because there was no way a brand new pair of shoes, still in their box, could go missing. I know where everything is in the house. How could this happen? They were NOT exactly where we put them but buried under mounds of socks. I did NOT check there initially and completely miss them. UGH.

Mimi did NOT spot a tube of toothpaste in my bathroom and ask if it was Colmate Togal (her pronunciation). When she flipped it over she exclaimed, "It is! Now your teeth will be clean and healthy. Good job mom." My kids were NOT sick so they did NOT watch enough TV to fill two lifetimes. Hench the quick absorption of marketing ploys. Kudos marketing people, you now have my three year old hooked on your product. We did NOT have our PJ's on all day Saturday AND Sunday.

It was NOT a perfect weekend for Mark to be away at a tournament. Sick kids = no fixing real meals and nothing but TV. WooHoo (I did NOT just get super excited about being completely lazy)! I did make homemade pizza crust and did NOT each pizza each night. I did NOT justify it because I put flax seed in the whole wheat crust making it completely healthy. That can erase the pound of cheese I added, right? Not to mention eating the entire thing by myself.....

Not Me! Monday

My computer died so it is at the shop. I am NOT too lazy to get the Not Me! Monday button for this post because my "blog" folder is not on this computer. We'll pretend I forgot :) I did try to copy and paste from another post but of course, it cannot be that easy.

I did NOT make chicken enchiladas this week knowing full well that nobody else in the house likes them. And they did NOT surprise me and all eat seconds. I sometimes have to feed the craving :)

I did NOT call the bagger girl at Publix Sweet Pea when thanking her for helping me out to my car. I do NOT call each of my girls Sweet Pea because I cannot remember their names half of the time. I do NOT often answer my husband with Yes, ma'am. After saying it a million times a day to all the Sweet Peas, it is not easy for me to make the switch to sir. I do NOT often think I am losing it and had better start doing daily "brain building" games before it happens.

We went to the mall to get my oldest shoes for the upcoming Daddy Daughter Dance and we did NOT go to every single store that sold kids shoes without finding anything that were proclaimed too big, small, ugly, or broken feeling (whatever this means). I did NOT break down and let her get tennis shoes that really do not match the dress or are even remotely cute. The shoes were NOT 2 sizes too big and ugly as all get out. The moment they were on her feet she did NOT exclaim "perfect!" I did NOT buy them - just because I could not stand to leave the mall knowing we would have to do more shopping. At least she won't be wearing her black boots...

Not Me! Monday

I had a great week of party preparation. Busy, busy but I love doing it. And when it is over I can NOT wait to clean. When my husband demanded that I just sit down for 5 minutes before cleaning I did NOT jump up less than 3 minutes into it because I had to get to cleaning. Some of my finer moments are when I think I need to be doing more than I am already doing. I do NOT multitask when going potty. I do NOT turn dirty clothes right side out or blow up baby bath tubs during this time.

My three year old always asks what a specific kind of food gives you (i.e. milk gives you strong bones..). When she asks about junk food I always tell her it gives you a big butt. Last week we were making cake balls for the party. She had a few tastes then does NOT tell me "I am going to have one HUGE butt today mom!" I am NOT waiting for her to impart this knowledge some day on a stranger.

This three year old also did NOT tell me that a dead frog that we saw on the sidewalk probably died because it's big sister gave it something small that it choked on. I do NOT scare my children into keep their little toys away from their baby sister by saying it might kill her. I certainly could come up with a better tactic. They do NOT often tell me things that could kill their baby sister.

I am NOT writing just one more thing about this quirky little three year old (I really could fill up the page). When over at our friends house yesterday she did NOT come running to me leaving a 10 foot long pee trail (sorry Chris) and I did NOT catch the rest using the cute little play apron (sorry Anne) so we could make it to the bathroom.

Not me! Monday

Friends of ours lost their car key when they were over and they did NOT have to look underneath the couch cushions for it. And there were NOT toys, socks, goldfish, raisins, etc. under each cushion. I was certainly NOT embarrassed. I clean under cushions each and every week (OK, at LEAST once a year :) ....and that was for the Superbowl.....and I still have yet to clean there.

My 3 year old did NOT have to visit the Principal's office for yelling at the music teacher. I wonder how that went. What could you say to this little face? Can you imagine this little face yelling at the teacher? I can NOT. She was so sad that I did NOT get out the camera to capture the moment. That might me a little insensitive.

I do not know what is more embarrassing, when you have breast milk all over the front of your shirt (which I did NOT) or when someone that you don't know mentions that you may NOT be leaking everywhere. This does NOT happen to me at least once with every child. And I did NOT just adjust the baby so it looked like she peed all over me .

Not Me Monday!

It's Monday. Time to tell you about somethings that did not happen....

So our 6 month old does NOT still sleep in bed with my husband and I (and I do NOT lie to our pediatrician saying that she is doing fine in her crib). I am NOT questioning my parenting skills because the other girls were in their cribs at 4 months. SO...I did NOT check out a huge pile of books about getting your child to sleep through the night (she does sleep perfectly all night long...just right by my side). Which, of course, the librarian did NOT offer her own advice. I picked up the first book and it did NOT list everything I was doing as absolutely correct (I love you Dr. William Sears)! Then I did NOT not read any others. I think I just needed it in writing somewhere that it was OK to do it my way. I am NOT OK with a little attachment parenting!

I did NOT tell my baby to focus on her core when trying to get her to sit by herself. And my three year old did NOT repeat this to her several times in encouragement.

My five year old did NOT have an accident in Borders and then run at me yelling "Mom, I thought it was going to be a fart!"

NOT ME Monday!

I did NOT finish off the cookies and cream ice cream last night breaking my "no sweets in January" policy. And it was NOT more than the 1/2 cup serving size. Who would ever think of eating more than suggested??

My baby has NOT perfected the technique of sliding the computer keyboard in with her foot while nursing (then looks at me and smiles).....because we are NOT in front of the computer every time she nurses.

I did NOT rent Stepbrothers for a good laugh but ended up not finishing it because it was so crude. I have NOT turned into that much of a prude. The bunk bed scene does NOT make me giggle every time I see it. (Seriously, I think this is the only funny part.) I did NOT feel like I had to shower after watching it.

I did NOT make 8 quarts of spaghetti sauce last week to open the freezer door to two of the quarts busted open. It did NOT ooze into every part of the freezer filling up door shelves and soaking just about everything. I did not spill another quart all over the floor while cleaning it up. My husband did NOT say that he saw a spark of crazy in my eyes during this fiasco.

Then the bag of coffee did NOT explode all over the kitchen while I was trying to squeeze every last bit of air out of it. So my kitchen floor is NOT the cleanest place in the house right now :)

Not-Me Monday

It's time for Not Me Monday over at My Charming Kids. Check it out. I guarantee a good laugh (or at least a little chuckle). Time to get a few things off my chest....

I do NOT often think of how much better I would be as a stay at home mother WITHOUT kids...They do NOT get in the way of my to-do lists. I do NOT need therapy in this regard :)

I did NOT tell my husband several times during the holidays that he would have to quit eating the goodies because they were to give away....and then I did NOT sneak a few myself. This would be really selfish.

I did NOT eat my daughter's left over mashed banana, avocado and breast milk concoction. It was NOT surprisingly good and I will NOT do it again. Who would consume their own milk? (Do cows drink milk??)

I did NOT resolve to cut out sweets for the month of January and then did NOT dream about cupcakes the last two nights. Yikes. Who would miss them that much?

I am NOT excited for the return of 90210 this week. I am 34, why would I watch a show for teens?

So there. I'm sure glad I did not do all of those things. I feel better! Happy Monday Everyone~
