Welcome to Take Me Back Tuesday! You can participate and/or check out other Take Me Back Tuesday posts at A Giveaway Addicted Mommy.

Tomorrow is Little Bit's first birthday (sniff, sniff). She's our last so it's a little sad...and a lot of happy! In honor of the big day, I am posting a picture of me at age one. I can across it yesterday. So fun!

Take Me Back 80's

*****EDIT*****LOL - I originally put 1993...1994...etc. but this is for SURE the 80's!!!

This is me and my (still) good friends Andrea and Lori. This must have been right after Christmas because we got Cabbage Patch Kids. 1983 - Third grade. The jacket I am wearing EVERYONE had in our small town. If you were a kid, you had a "Packer Jacket" with the flap in the back (guys jackets didn't have the flap but a maroon and gold collar) and your name embroidered on the front. In high school you just moved on to a nicer quality jacket which had your letters on it. Andrea (top picture) moved to Texas when we were younger so she was exempt :) The picture with Lori was on our way to Winter Carnival festivities. Fun stuff!

This picture, which is 1983 or 1984 ( edit...this is 1985 - 5th grade), is the epitome of 80's elementary school fashion. I'm working it ALL here....big bow, springy earrings, layered shirts, polo collar UP, springy bracelets, bandanna around the waist, pin striped pants...which are most likely rolled or pinned tight around the ankles. Make fun all you want - LOL - at least I wasn't in my 20's sporting the same style. I'm sure blue eye shadow would have been involved at that point.

Take Me Back - Senior Year Hippy

Welcome to Take Me Back Tuesday! You can participate and/or check out other Take Me Back Tuesday posts at A Giveaway Addicted Mommy.
I am going for more pictures of me in high school at the request of one of my old students (now an adult who reads my blog). I'm glad I did because I realized I cannot find many of my old albums. I'll have to start looking. So I first give you a picture of me as a sophomore. Typical 80's hair (although it was 1990). I had stick straight hair so really had to work at getting any sort of height....and with as much effort it took me to get the bangs high, I guess I didn't have any left for the rest of the hair. Funny. I know. So I was typical in 10th grade but something my junior year really turned me around. I'm not sure how it happened but by my senior year I was trying to channel a hippy. Long straight hair, beads, tie-dye, not much make-up, everything Jim Morrison. Oh my! I was against the grain.

I'm sure my bangs were tired of being man handled, but looking at this picture it seems that my 3 year old could have cut better bangs. This was right after a homecoming Mountain Dew slamming contest. Fun stuff. Don't try this at home!

And after all this bang talk, it is no wonder that now I have bang phobia. AND I can stop wondering what my real hair color is. It has been so long.

So let's see some of your old pictures! I dare you :)

Take Me Back Tuesday - USSR

Welcome to Take Me Back Tuesday! You can participate and/or check out other Take Me Back Tuesday posts at A Giveaway Addicted Mommy.

We were in Odessa, Ukraine...at the time it was still kind of the USSR as it was all breaking apart. We were there for about 6 weeks on an exchange program. Would couldn't go when we initially planned to because of the Gorbachev coup. We couldn't go home as expected either because of civil unrest. And I'm pretty sure we were told to try to "blend in" and if anyone asked, that we were from the Baltic Republic (nobody would have believed it - we smiled way too much). "Our Russians" (as we liked to call them) had come to stay with us earlier that year. I could fill pages with memories from the trip.

So here I am in my letter jacket (a must have those days) and a huge scrunchie. We were wearing their school uniforms. It was gray and smoggy all of the time as you can see in the background. We were there over Thanksgiving and I brought one can of Spaghetti O's and a can opener so I could celebrate :) The priorities of a high schooler!
