Kid Friendly Friday - Magnet People

Welcome to the second Kid Friendly Friday where we pool our resources and share anything kid related. Feel free to link up to a post of anything related (food, crafts, books, movies, giveaways, etc).

My family is all up north. We see most everyone a few times a year but it's hard to be so far away. I want my girls to grow up knowing their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. One year I put together a scrapbook of all of the cousins, including pictures, favorite colors, foods, etc. This was nice but not interactive. I found the idea of magnet people in a Family Fun magazine. The girls have so much fun playing with the people and matching them to their names. It has been a constant reminder of family.

You will need picture of everyone, which are sized relative to each other (i.e. babies smaller than older kids and adults). I copied pictures into Word and used their sizing tool to make everyone the correct size. I then printed the pictures on the magnet printer paper (available at a office store) and cut everyone out. I also made name tags for each person (color coded each family). I have a white magnetic board that is at child level but they would work well on a refrigerator as well. I still have a few more to add. I also have a couple I need to repair (the baby ate the head off of my sister-in-law).
