Thousand Word Thursday - I Want to Clean

To clarify, I never want to clean.....but Little Bit really wants to clean. Good luck with getting that to stick! While I am on the phone she sees the opportunity to grab the spray bottle and rag (and taunts me a bit).....
and runs out the door.

I find her at her Little People table pretending to clean. She must have watched me (and is obviously a very quick learner because she doesn't see me do this often).

Getting her cleaning groove on.

And a bad hair day.

Wordless Wednesday - I Used the Potty

Let me clarify, I always use the potty.....but out of nowhere, Little Bit used the potty for the first time (she really wanted on the big potty so luckily this little one was just under the bathroom sink). We couldn't get her out of the bathroom after that. She just wanted to keep sitting. SO different than the other two!

Wordless/Wordful Wednesday - Nap

This is the child that does not nap, so when I came in to find this, I was overjoyed. I guess that board book was a real snoozer!

This Can't Be A Wordless Wednesday - Frog Tales

Little Bit LOVES frogs. We have a family of them inside the eves by the front door and a few that camp out on the lights by the back door. When we are lucky, one is on the sliding glass door and we get to see the frog's belly and cool suction cup toes. Little Bit gets so excited and shrieks "Fffffrr! Ffffffrr!"! She'll get around to the "og" soon enough.

This morning I was holding her on my hip while trying to put a note in the door warning the technician that I would be right back (don't you hate the 9 to noon window they give you?), when this frog jumped directly onto Little Bit's forehead. Picture me screaming, jumping up and down, trying to get this big frog to release his grasp on this little head. The frog jumps to the door frame. I feel like an idiot. Little Bit has had the ride of her life and cannot get enough of the frog that was once on her head.

If you ask her "where was the frog"? She'll put her hands on her knoggin and giggle with glee. Do you know how many times we sang the Laurie Burkner tune "Little Bit has a frog on her head....and she keeps it there all day"? Can't get it out of your head now. Good. Now I'm not alone :)

When Things Turn Quiet

You know when you are doing a task and time gets away from you? That happened to me today. When I snapped out of it I had an eerie feeling. The house was too quiet. Upon further investigation I found a wet little girl.....who found a new place for water play. Great.

Thousand Word - Beach Fun

We spent the week at the beach; one more last hurrah before school starts up. We had a wonderful time. Hope you get some R&R before your year starts.

Despite having watched "Shark Week" the previous week, Bigs was not afraid to play in the water. She loves getting beat up by the waves and throwing jelly fish back into the water (yes, real jelly fish, no they were not poisonous).

Mimi enjoying the sand and water. She has a fantastic imagination and can play for hours.

Can you believe I forgot to bring Little Bit's bathing suits to the beach?? Luckily, Mimi had one that was slightly too small for her....but still a bit big on Little Bit. She had the most wonderful time digging in the sand and chasing sea birds.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Lizard Watching

She loves the water but we can't keep her in the pool for long. She wants to explore. I wish I could capture the excitement she has when first spotting a lizard (picture a lot of bouncing, screaming, and finger pointing). Then she just squats and observes.

3 Thing and Thousand Word Thursday

Cheaper Than Therapy holds A Thousand Word Thursday each week. Go visit to check out other pictures! Michelle over at Psalm 104:24 hosts Three Things This Thursday. I like to do them together. Randomness and pictures.

1. Weather Radios: How many people do these actually help...and how many people are like me? On Tuesday our weather radio went off numerous times throughout the night giving me a possible heart attack each time. I know the thing has volume control but quiet is not an option. Each time I frantically dove to the radio pressing every button I could to make it stop (picture you and your alarm clock in college). Only one time during the night did I look at the display and read TORNADO. I told my husband that there is a tornado warning (he cannot recall this). And we both went back to sleep in a matter of seconds. So when I woke up and see this.... "A possible tornado ripped the roofs off several homes late Tuesday in (THE CITY I LIVE) and sent a tree crashing into a house near (ANOTHER CITY) as a system of severe storms continued across the peninsula, officials confirmed early today." I am wondering the merits of this device. Even though I ignore it I won't unplug it. But I honestly cannot believe a weather radio because tornadoes and other natural disasters are things that happen to other people. I know, wait until I find out this is not always true. And besides, we don't have basements so there isn't a great place to go if one did hit. So do you listen to your weather radio?

2. Summer TV: I have never been a huge TV watcher (except sports) until the birth of my third baby. She isn't a crib sleeper. She is a "I won't sleep in anything but Mommy's arms" sleeper. You don't have to tell me how that might affect her later on....I've heard it all. Most evenings she falls asleep around 8...and I can either go to bed or do something that requires no movement whatsoever. I have watched more TV in the last 10 months since my college days (you are getting a glimpse of my laid back college experience today). I am now hooked on 24, How I Met Your Mother, Biggest Loser, 90210 (ahem, college BH 90210 junkie - the whole sorority would watch it before bar time), and America's Next Top Model. I have always watched football and baseball but this year I have even watched lots of Magic games (Woo Hoo). I am, however, excited that they have all had their season finales and I am free to watch, or not watch, whatever I want. I know, I am free when they are in season as well...but come on.

3. Pictures!!! Lemon teether, SO BIG, Get me out of this thing!

Three Thing and Thousand Word Thursday - Crib, Muliple Choice, and Something To Think About

Michelle over at Psalm 104:24 hosts Three Things This Thursday. A Thousand Word Thursday picture is hosted by Jen at Cheaper Than Therapy. I really like these two memes together. A little randomness and a few pictures thrown in.

1. For the first time ever Little Bit slept in her crib...for an entire 3 and a half hours! This is a huge deal. There wasn't even any crying (mine or hers) involved.

2. Little Bit is going to be our climber. I have had a compliant baby (Bigs) and a mess maker (Mimi) so she is our first climber.

Do you thinks she will be
(a) a computer programmer
(b) a fitness instructor
(c) a multi-tasker (after mommy's own heart)
(d) none of the above, but covered with bumps and bruises.
Not seconds after this picture she took a step too far right and tumbled off of it. You live and learn.

3. A quote that someone heard at a funeral recently. The wife of the deceased found this worn out quote in his wallet. Great reminder.
"I have concluded that the accumulation of wealth, even if I could achieve it, is an insufficient reason for living. When I reach the end of my days, a moment or two from now, I must look backward on something more meaningful than the pursuit of houses and land and machines and stocks and bonds. Nor is fame of any lasting benefit. I will consider my earthly existence to have been wasted unless I can recall a loving family, a consistent investment in the lives of people, and an earnest attempt to serve the God who made me. Nothing else makes sense."

Little Bit of Bubbles

Angela at Angela's Adventures and Minor Mishaps is hosting a bubble picture contest! She tells us that the second week of March is National Bubble Week...which explain the bubble activities Mimi had at preschool all week!

Here is my first set of entries (I'm going to try for one set of each girl - wish me luck - the others are harder to chase after).....Little Bit and Bubbles!

Thousand Word - Best of Friends

My wish for today is that they will grow up loving each other unconditionally and delight in each other's lives. That they are strong when the others need it and they are carried by the other two when they need it themselves. I pray that they grow together spiritually and encourage each other. That they will be best friends. Sisters. How much fun!
